When we visited the chaps from Bunker Custom Cycles in Istanbul earlier this year, we were not only welcomed with open arms and a decent cup of coffee, we were also let into a little secret.
Although keen to continue creating staggeringly beautiful one-off concepts, brothers Mert and Can Uzer revealed that they wanted to open up the custom scene to those who perhaps can’t afford such lavish motorcycle commissions.
“We will keep on doing individual custom bikes but our main direction will be producing affordable kits. And this is going to be one of many,” the brothers explain when pointing us towards their new Janus bolt-on body kit.

“Our custom designed body panels can easily be swapped with the factory plastic panels without any modifications to the frame. The only tools required for installing the entire kit is an Allen key and a socket wrench,” the Bunker boys explain.
The team approached the project like any other custom build and fashioned the panels using traditional 2D sketches and wooden bucks, as well as incorporating modern 3D software to perfect each panel.

It wasn’t an easy task though, as Can explains: “We wanted our parts to be adaptable with original panels.
“For example, you can actually keep the stock gas tank panels and install our seat and side panels or vice versa.
“Each part we did was like a part of a puzzle related to the rest of the parts,” he says.
According to Bunker, the exercise was inspired by 80’s Café Racer grace but features a healthy nod to the future, with sharp lines and angular styling giving it more than a shot of appeal.

All panels will come unpainted, allowing for owners to get even more creative, while prices will start at a special introductory rate of €980 until June 1st, when they rise to €1480.
The team is also keen to point out that the EBC front and rear discs, DID Pro Street VX2 chain, Pirelli Rosso Tyres by Lapas Pirelli, R&G Tail Tidy, LSL Headlight Brackets, Akrapovic full exhaust system and Biltwell grips featured on the model pictured here don’t come as standard but instead show the scope of customisation options.
